Don't be Afraid of the Dark

Alright, so yes i'm finally going to start writing reviews again! So to start of this comeback, i'm going to look at Don't be Afraid of the Dark by one of my favorite director's Guillermo Del Toro.

Here is a brief synopsis of the film from IMDB: "A young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own."

This movie was great, the atmosphere, the lighting, the characters, the story, and the creatures, i thought were done really well and it was a horror film from the past 3 years that actually scared me. The movie made me feel genuine terror and it did so with the way it's filmed, it's not just jump scare after jump scare though they are present in the film they aren't the only thing that makes you feel afraid, the way the tooth faeries looked was creepy and nothing like what we have seen, given the fact that these little monsters are based off the original version of the tooth fairy and not the fairy tale version that have come to cherish.

I loved this film, it was a ton of fun and the way Del Toro presented the film was awesome, I fully endorse this movie, if you have the chance, check it out and see for yourself at how scary this movie is, I say go buy it and let the screams run through out the house.

Remember if you have any suggestions for any horror films you want me to review send me an email at: keller.noah@gmail.com

Thanks for reading, See you for my next review.

My First Music Review (Traditional Chinese Music and others)

YES!!!!!! I've been meaning to do this and i finally have and please don't judge me because i don't like rap and you know i can understand why people like it and i will say it does sound nice but for me i don't like it because the subject matter tends to change from love and tragedy to party and F b*tches and that kinda annoy's me and yes you could say the same thing about the music i like but with my music songs don't get old and fade away like with rap and hip hop and all those other types of music of today's media. So i just want you to know i don't have a personal hatred for rap i just don't enjoy it like most people and Fuck (yes i'm using fuck here rather then up there) Twilight, this book and movie series ruined werewolves and vampires especially vampires and no vampires don't sparkle when they move into the sun, they fucking burn and turn to ash. enough of the rant until my next video. See you guy's next week.

The hills have eyes (1977)

Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes (1977)

Now to start of of this review i must say i like the remake of this film in the same way i like this film, why i like them is not just because of the violence in both films or the extremely grotesque scenes in the new ones (though not usually my favorites), no it's not just those aspects, it's the fact that this is a more original idea, now if your not familiar with the original film which is the one I'm reviewing today here is the Imdb plot description:

On the way to California, a family has the misfortune to have their car break down in an area closed to the public, and inhabited by violent savages ready to attack.

sounds simple enough though it still works and makes this film all the more creepy. Now the remake (reviewing that tomorrow) the bad character's of the film aren't just savages, they are also inbreeds and victims of nuclear radiation who are quite mad that the people are intruding on they're turf. Now back to this film kind of the same thing only they don't look quite as nasty as the remake but still quite effective seeing as how the lighting they use (which is incredible for films like this) makes the evil character look more menacing like on the poster. Now to finish this off I'm going to say that though the remake is not quite as powerful, it does create it's own style and feel which i like because it doesn't try to be this movie for the most part other then character's, setting, and tone but at the same time make it's own film and so i leave you on a note of happiness that you can enjoy this film and it's remake as much as i do and i bid thee farewell till tomorrow.
